The #AclaraConnect conference is where leaders, innovators, and people who make things happen gather to share secrets to success and learn about the latest in the electric, water, and gas utility industries. At AclaraConnect you will learn and network with the best and brightest in the electric, gas, and water utility industry.
The people you will hear speak are not only building smarter infrastructures today, but understand how utilities are changing and how they will evolve tomorrow. Come Together. Connect for a better future at #AclaraConnect 2018
All #AclaraConnect sessions will offer insights about current and future trends and advances in electric, gas, and water utilities. Get the highlights below, or visit the Executive Summit or conference agenda pages on the #AclaraConnect website for more information and to register.
Executive Summit Tackles Building Endurance for Utility Longevity
Join our three panels of industry and utility experts at this year’s Executive Summit, themed Building endurance for utility longevity, as they tackle issues affecting utilities today such as distributed energy resources, changing regulations, heightened consumer expectations, aging infrastructure, and technologies. This year’s summit panels include:
Squashing the Duck, which will focus on minimizing the effect of the duck curve, the graph of power production that shows timing imbalances between peak demand and renewable energy.
Resilience – Prepare, Respond and Recover, which will center around how utilities can respond to threats to service and operation such as weather events, resource scarcity and cyber attacks.
Infrastructure Review and Improvement, which will concentrate on how utilities can properly weigh the advantages and disadvantages of investments in modernization versus maintenance.
Speakers on these panels include Dora Nakafuji, member of the strategy and Innovation group at Kamehameha Schools and leading expert on the duck curve, Rich Svindland, president of California American Water and Hawaii American Water, and Greg DiLoreto, chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers for American Infrastructure.
