The ever-evolving center of Texas history, politics, and culture, Austin offers something for everyone. You can experience the stunning outdoors, explore countless music venues, or visits the stunning Capitol building. We’re planning some terrific social tours on May 20 to let you get a taste of the real Austin.
1: Downtown to Barton Springs Kayak Tour
On this 2-hour tour, discover the downtown skyline, including the famous Congress Avenue Bridge (‘the bat bridge’), before heading to Barton Springs.
2: 90 Minute Tour of Austin’s History and Culture
This sightseeing tour will showcase of “All Things Austin. “ Learn more about Austin’s rich history, local hangouts, live music scene, unique (some say weird) culture, local arts, outdoor lifestyle, lively parks, extraordinary gastronomic scene, trendy shopping districts, and the Hill Country’s lakes and vistas.
3: Highway to Flyway Zipline Tour
Highway to Flyway is a 2-Zip Line package for the thrill seekers. Enjoy both the Horse Shoe Highway at 535 feet long and a nice little jump across the valley, and the River Run zip line at a breathtaking 1,315 feet long.
4: Capitol District Pedal Pub Crawl
For those beer lover’s out there, this pub crawl offers a unique 2-hour tour of the historic warehouse district, where bars, restaurants, and shops now occupy renovated old warehouses. The tour concludes with a pedal up Austin’s Congress street towards the beautiful and historic Texas State Capitol building.

Rev up for fast-paced action
Our premier social event is planned for the Circuit of The Americas raceway, the only purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the USA designed for all classes of racing. The 3.4-mile racetrack hosts the world’s most prestigious sporting events, including the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, and Lone Star Le Mans. Our attendees will take part in a one-of-a-kind social experience that combines realistic racing activities, food and beverage, and live entertainment.
You’ll experience racing from the perspective of an aspiring Formula 1 racer at speeds of over 50 mph on COTA’s professional karting track. For those who feel “the need for speed,” Audi Hot Laps offers the ride of their lives around COTA’s ¾-mile circuit in the company of a professional driver. And for attendees who want to get the big picture, the Tower Observation Deck provides an amazing view of Central Texas.

In addition, AclaraConnect offers amazing networking opportunities with peers from an expected 250 gas, water, and electric utilities. Our opening reception, this year a cowboy-themed event, will let you catch up with your colleagues and prepare for the conference. Each day will include multiple networking breaks and meals and the conference will culminate in a closing reception to wrap up the event.
